Job Description

Bridge Animal Referral Center (www.barcseattle.com) is a privately-owned practice located in the Edmonds area of Seattle whose vision is to create a comprehensive multi-specialty care facility at one location. Bridge Animal Referral Center (BARC) is looking for a veterinarian to join our practice. This is a unique opportunity for an associate veterinarian with an interest in Oncology to join our practice.

The Oncology Associate Veterinarian (OAV) is a doctor that practices exclusively on our oncology service and expands the care offered for chemotherapy and monitoring appointments. The OAV partners with our board-certified oncologists providing continuity of care for existing oncology patients and their owners. The OAV is a valued, key care provider through the treatment plan, managing follow-ups and maintaining partnership with the referring Veterinarian.

We are looking for a veterinarian with at least 2 years of general practice, emergency experience, or a specialty internship graduate. This is a full-time position (although part-time applicants may be considered).

The Oncology Service is equipped with Heska Element blood analyzers capable of providing CBC, serum chemistry, ionized calcium, electrolyte, and blood gas results in 15 minutes, a 64 slice Toshiba Acquilion CT, Class IV laser services and Cellfie concierge cytology service. We are committed to remaining on the cutting edge and readily engage in multiple clinical trials for drugs, technology and immunotherapy. We are the premier center for electrochemotherapy and have multiple machines to work with!

This is a great opportunity for someone committed to the science of veterinary oncology, has a passion for learning and wants to try something new in their career! The opportunity would provide support, collaboration, and mentorship from our two board-certified oncologists.

Skills and Qualifications

* A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university

* At least 2 years of general practice, emergency experience, or a specialty internship graduate

* Ability to become licensed to practice in the state of Washington

* Ability to acquire a DEA license

* Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, diplomatic attitude

Job Responsibilities

* Provide client and patient care in close collaboration with our board-certified oncologist

* Learn our chemotherapy protocols, management, and safety so that you can oversee the ongoing treatment of patients

* Oversee anesthesia for patients undergoing diagnostic imaging with the support of licensed veterinary technicians

* Establish a good rapport with referring veterinarians, including timely professional and respectful communication; assistance in their professional growth an education through recommendations and interaction on referred and shared cases; ongoing development of a positive working relationship; participation in Continuing Education involving the referral community.

* Assist in the development and training of the Technician, Assistant, and Client Care teams to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
