Road & Bridge Light Equipment Operator

Road & Bridge Light Equipment Operator City of Craig $42,730 ($20.54) - $61,424 ($29.53) /Year. Fulltime with excellent benefits. Minimum H.S./GED/ and 1 year experience in operation of construction equipment. Minimum Class B Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or willingness to obtain within 6-months. Must pass DOT physical. Subject to call outs. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates trucks with mounted snowplows and sanders, rollers, street sweepers, front-end loaders, and dump trucks. Hauls sand, gravel, water, snow, and asphalt, etc.
Makes street cuts, prepares surfaces to be repaved using picks, shovels, jack hammers, concrete and asphalt power saw, etc. Seals cracks, patches streets, apply seal coats. Installs and repairs culverts, streets signs, and storm drain systems. Uses levels, transits, and pipe laser. Participates in construction, building maintenance projects and concrete work.
Performs routine vehicle and equipment maintenance. Maintains storm drains, alleys, etc.
Paints curbs and crosswalks. Keeps pertinent records.
Completes daily operator Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) pre-trip inspection check list to ensure vehicles and equipment are safe and operable.
Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Good physical condition, manual dexterity, reaching, kneeling, lifting.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, driving record check, must pass DOT physical.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school graduate plus additional training in operation of construction equipment desirable.
Minimum of one year experience in the operation of construction equipment.
