Graduate Program Adviser Coordinator
The Wall College of Business (WCOB) at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Program Adviser Coordinator (Student Services Program Coordinator I). This position serves as the main point of contact for graduate students in the WCOB pursuing the Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Accountancy (MACC), or graduate certificate programs. The position works in support of the Graduate Program Manager and Graduate Program Director in the WCOB Graduate Programs Office.
Duties include but are not limited to: Serves as primary advisor for all graduate students pursuing study in the WCOB from prospective status to enrollment through graduation; provides support on issues related to admission, registration, degree plan, study abroad, academic policies, and graduation, including transitional study and non-degree seeking students; conducts graduate student orientation sessions; advises/counsels students on an individual basis including: academic progress, career planning, university policies and procedures, financial aid, and student service resources; maintains advising records for all graduate student applications and enrollment, general petitions, transfer credit evaluation, special enrollment requests, and graduation applications, serves as primary contact for student re-admission applications and grade petitions; assists Graduate Program Manager and Director with applicant recruitment; works with the office of international admissions on special requirements for admitting international students; supports the Graduate Program Manager and the Graduate School in cross-campus recruiting; acts as the Graduate Assistantship/ Graduate Internship coordinator for the WCOB; responsible for coordinating GA onboarding, training, and hire paperwork for the WCOB; provides counseling and support for graduate students seeking internships as part of degree completion and for the approval processes in Handshake; assists Graduate Director with academic catalog and curriculum changes and assure adherence to university policies and procedures in the graduate program; coordinates operational activities for the graduate business programs in include support for the graduate advisory committees, program meetings and events; provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large/ and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required. A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or a master’s degree in counseling or MBA is preferred. At least two (2) years of experience in student advising and/or career counseling is preferred. Experience with Datatel, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and excellent writing and communication skills are preferred.
