Position Description
The Program in Environmental and Sustainability Studies invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor for a 3-year visiting position to begin in August 2024. Candidates must have completed all requirements for a graduate degree in a social sciences discipline by August 16, 2024, with a Ph.D. preferred. We are most interested in attracting an interdisciplinary scholar with expertise in environmental economics, environmental policy, and/or environmental law and a strong commitment to equitable and inclusive teaching. Experience teaching interdisciplinary courses is preferred. The successful candidate will teach four course sections per semester, including multiple sections of a 200-level introductory course in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. Additional courses will be assigned based on the candidate's expertise, with opportunities to offer graduate and upper-level courses in Environmental and Sustainability Studies as well as courses in our Honors College and First-Year Experience Program.
