Marketing Communications Coordinator

South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics

The Marketing Communications Coordinator at the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) is an energetic, hardworking, professional committed to the school's mission and its advancement.
Responsibilities include supporting the marketing team in the execution of the school's integrated media strategies for all programs.
This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the marketing team with planning, executing and tracking campaigns.
Assist with the production of marketing materials, collateral and digital content
Photograph and video school events, including travel events at off-campus locations, for promotion, evaluation and archiv- al purposes.
Assist with in-person and virtual interviews as well as studio productions
Assist with the writing and distribution of traditional press releases about the school, student achievements and events.
Assist with creating an engaging presence on the school's social media accounts and website.
Manage the school's digital signage system and upload new content regularly.
Research trends and best practices for content creation

Other Responsibilities:
Ensure that information published across platforms support the brand strategy and is timely, consistent, accurate, and reliable.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Exceptional and persuasive written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
2. Hands-on knowledge of photography, video, and associated editing and publishing practice.
3. Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
4. Ability to learn CMS platforms.
5. Superior organizational and time management skills
6. Understanding of the need for confidentiality and the ability to protect sensitive per- sonal information.
7. A bachelor's degree in a supportive field.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in higher, or secondary education institutions.
2. Knowledge on using Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve, EDIUS or a similar editing software
3. Knowledge of AP Style
4. Knowledge of basic journalistic practices
5. Knowledge of basic camera operation
