FIREFIGHTER
ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ELIGIBILITY LIST AND HIRINGFOR THE POSITION OF FIREFIGHTER
The Penn Township Board of Commissioners and the Council of the Borough of Hanover announce they are beginning the process of establishing a Joint Eligibility List for hiring of a Firefighter.
Applications for the position of Firefighter may be obtained at the Penn Township Municipal Building, 20
Wayne Avenue, Hanover PA 17331 -OR- the Hanover Borough Office, 44 Frederick Street, Hanover PA 17331.
Application packets may be picked up at either location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Applications will be accepted until Friday December 30th, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at the Penn Township Municipal Building or the Hanover Borough Office. Applicants shall submit a non-refundable testing fee of $50.00, made payable to Hanover Area Fire & Rescue attached to the completed application.
General Qualifications:
- Every applicant for any position in the Fire Department shall possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma, and;
- Every applicant must be a United States citizen, and;
- Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of Firefighter, and;
- Prior to appointment, possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued by the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania, and;
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the application deadline.
