General Manager
Hawthorn Senior Living, a senior housing company for active seniors, is now hiring for a General Manager in Charlotte.
The successful candidate must have a passion for working with seniors. Also, a proven customer service background and strong management/supervisory experience is necessary to manage of the day-to-day operations of our retirement community. Overall Job Purpose:
In the role of General Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day operations of an independent senior living community, which includes 1) developing an engaged and productive team; 2) ensuring high resident satisfaction; and 3) ensuring strong financial performance. The General Manager is a salaried position, which means you typically will not work a 40-hour work week and must be flexible with your schedule.
Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements:
• Min. of 5 years’ previous management experience including, operational & financial experience in managing employees, recruiting, customer service, budgeting, purchasing, payroll, & accounts payable/receivable. Preferred industry background: hotel, senior living, hospital, restaurant.
• Ability to work as part of a team with the Assistant General Manager and Executive Chef, to provide a great living environment for our residents and a safe and motivating work atmosphere for our staff.
• Ability to manage the day-to-day operations of the Community with the support of the Assistant General Manager.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with residents and staff.
• Ability to keep all business, operational and resident information confidential.
