Professor of Social Work and Inaugural Master of Social Work Program Director
The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marymount University invites applications for a full-time faculty, 12-month position as the inaugural Director of a new MSW Program. The initial rank of this tenure-track position will depend upon experience. The successful candidate will oversee and administer all aspects of the development, initial accreditation, and establishment of a new online MSW program.
The new director will be responsible for shepherding the program through the CSWE accreditation process, developing curriculum, hiring new faculty, and creating a dynamic team to launch a new MSW program in Spring of 2024.
Working with our OPM partner, the new director will be involved in overseeing curriculum development, recruitment and retention of MSW students, and liaison within the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences and other programs across the university.
The MSW Program Director will assist in the hiring of the MSW Field Director and will work with them on all issues related to MSW field placements. Additionally, the director will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the program meet ongoing accreditation standards and complete assessment reports as required. The selected candidate is expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through their scholarship, teaching, and service.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

- MSW and doctoral degree required
- LMSW or LCSW (preferred or eligible)
- Demonstrated administrative leadership ability in higher education.
- Demonstrated and enthusiastic interest in online graduate education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as public speaking experience.
- Ability to develop and work collaboratively with a team.
