Essential Job Functions:

Perform routine maintenance of exterior grounds features including installation of playground equipment and signs, maintenance of exterior wooden and metal structures, assistance with concrete pours and repairs, and removal of snow throughout the District’s 30 campuses. Responsible for maintaining safe and aesthetically pleasing campuses. Work must be completed according to specifications and in a timely manner to avoid possible injuries to students, staff or visitors using our campuses.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance
• Knowledge of playground equipment installation
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a diverse workforce
• Proficient in the use of all hand tools and power-related equipment
• Able to operate Skid Steer, dump truck, backhoe, chain saw, brush chipper, concrete saw, sealer truck, jackhammer, roller, hot tar machine, forklift, pressure washer, concrete mixer, mower, string trimmer and other related construction equipment
• Able to drive ¾, 1- and 2-ton trucks, maneuver trailers loaded with larger equipment, and operate lift beds
• Possess and maintain a minimum Missouri Class E driver’s license or equivalent
• Able to work in all weather conditions and on all types of terrain
• Able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, read, learn and respond to a variety of subjects related to this position
• Ability to physically move throughout the district buildings and campuses; must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly, stand or walk for long periods, shovel snow and ice
