Assistant Teaching Professor of Philosophy

The Philosophy Department at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position, with an anticipated start date of August 2024.

The department is looking for candidates with experience and strength in ethics and applied ethics, broadly conceived.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Teaching Professor include teaching undergraduate philosophy courses. This position will include resident and possibly some online instruction and normal university service.

A Ph.D. in Philosophy or related field is required by the appointment date. This is a non-tenure-track, term position for one year, with an excellent possibility of renewal. Full-time Assistant Teaching Professors teach three courses per semester.

In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
