Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Facilities

FLSA Status: Regular- Non-Exempt

Location: Lesage, WV

Role Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance to the facilities HVAC, lighting, and safety systems. The ideal candidate for this role should have extensive experience in troubleshooting processing and packaging equipment. WE are looking for someone who is flexible and ready to take on any task presented to them.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and install various pieces of processing and packaging equipment
  • Troubleshoot buildings Electrical Distribution, HVAC, and Lighting Systems
  • Follow planned maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and life span of both production equipment and building systems
  • Respond to line calls and maintenance tickets according to their assigned priority
  • Maintain building systems and structures to include HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting, and Miscellaneous items
  • Work with fellow members of the maintenance team to formulate solutions to problems that may arise with building and production equipment
  • Assist with the inventory of parts and materials, ensuring accurate documentation showing usage of parts and materials
  • Document the completion of all maintenance items per the Planned Maintenance Procedure in place
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical theory and troubleshooting
  • High level knowledge of electrical circuits and drawings
  • Experience in troubleshooting control/low voltage systems
  • Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment includes but not limited to; Multi-meters, Amp Meters, and Meggers
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Well versed in maintenance safety protocols including PPE and LOTO
  • Ability to identify unsafe situations and work with team leads onsite to mitigate risks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great computer skills including but not limited to; Microsoft Office and Outlook

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of Trade School, Apprenticeship, or relevant Military Experience strongly preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 100 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
