Extension Program Assistant, 4-H Youth Development

The University of Maryland Extension seeks a 4-H Program Assistant. This position works under the direction of the 4-H Educator to support the Dorchester County 4-H Educator with various programming efforts, including 4-H outreach within the afterschool and in-school settings, as well as community outreach programs and club development. This position will work within the office, schools, community events, and outside locations.
High School Diploma or GED AND Five years’ experience performing a variety of duties in support of the teaching, demonstration, and advising work of Extension agents or in community outreach, health care, research, or social services programs. Responsibilities:

Physical Demands |
• The employee will lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds. Set-up and tear-down of displays, tables, and chairs.
• This position requires the employee to work outdoors at certain times of the year, especially during the time of annual fair, 4-H residential or day camps and youth recreation activities. • This position frequently presents information through vocal and written communication to individuals of various ages, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds. • Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data. |
