The UNCW Department of Athletics and its fundraising arm, Seahawk Club, is a department within the Chancellor's division. UNCW is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I (DI) level and has full membership in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) while sponsoring 19 varsity sports programs. The unit serves to recruit and retain student-athletes into its intercollegiate athletic programs with an emphasis on their comprehensive development academically, competitively, and as leaders in the community as exhibited by competitive, successful, and impactful sports programs that graduate its student-athletes. Athletics is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Assistant Athletic Director of Administration. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position is responsible for the oversight of the Athletic Director's routine commitments, public relations obligations, and traditional correspondence. This individual provides research and reports on athletics department strategic initiatives to the Director of Athletics. This individual also serves as the Director of Athletics liaison to CAA, NCAA, and other external and internal committees on which the Director may serve.

This individual provides research and reports on athletics department strategic initiatives to the Director of Athletics. This individual also serves as the Director of Athletics liaison to CAA, NCAA, and other external and internal committees on which the Director may serve.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities for the Director's travel, electronic communication, and traditional correspondence.
- Maintaining liaison with appropriate personnel, University Departments and outside sources to obtain and provide pertinent information and to answer inquiries concerning program activities.
- Facilitating the Director's game day activities.
- Supporting the Director of Athletics in external and internal committee preparation, projects and speaking engagements
- Coordinating operational and special events hosted by the Director of Athletics, including entertainment and fundraising events.
- Serving as a liaison to the CAA, NCAA, and other external and internal committees on which The Director may serve
- Assisting members of the Director of Athletics Executive team with daily direction from the Director of Athletics
- Creating and updating reports for scheduled distribution to the Athletic Director's office and necessary constituents
- Collaborating with internal and external constituents, including other foundations of University units to organize and coordinate special projects for the Athletic Director
- Providing project management support by; tracking, monitoring, and following the progression of action items and strategies that stem from meetings with Senior Staff
- Managing special project requests from the Athletic Director
- Working with internal units to develop and facilitate NIL education for student-athletes, coaches, and staff
- Developing plans for creating, securing, and implementing NIL resources for student-athletes and staff
- Meeting with coaches and sport/team NIL liaisons to discuss NIL resources and strategy.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
- Two-years' experience at the collegiate or professional level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public, colleagues, and donors
- Ability to effectively engage and present to a wide variety of constituents, both internally and externally
- Self-starter that is detailed oriented, with strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in an NCCA Division I/II athletics program
- Passion for NCAA Division I Athletics
- Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
