Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Faculty Affairs Business Systems and Reporting Analyst serves as a vital member of the Office of Faculty Affairs and participates in the internal and external initiatives and activities in support of Academic Affairs and the University's strategic plan, priorities, goals, and initiatives.

The position is responsible for system administration, data management, and report development pertaining to all faculty as defined in the UNCW Faculty Handbook and System Office Policies. This position requires a commitment to quality service in which a high level of discretion and confidentiality is essential when working with sensitive faculty personnel information. The incumbent must embrace emerging technologies and look for opportunities to create process efficiency through system configuration. The incumbent must demonstrate understanding, appreciation, and commitment to shared governance. The incumbent works independently, using sound judgement, diplomacy, and tact while working with Academic Affairs leadership, faculty, and staff. This is a customer-centric, fast-paced environment which requires work to be performed with a sense of urgency in completing day-to-day activities with a strong focus on high performance, collaboration, and innovation. This position reports to the Director of Academic Personnel Administration.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or related field and at least 6 months experience in report development, data visualization and/or system administration or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions

  • Experience in higher education particularly working with the faculty career cycle, policies, and procedures
  • Experience in report writing/development and analytics
  • Experience in utilization, testing, troubleshooting ERP Systems
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Ability to interpret federal, state, system office, and university policies
  • Ability to independently problem-solve both precedented and unprecedented challenges
  • Ability to function as a self-starter functioning autonomously with minimal direction
  • Ability to constantly assess priorities and reprioritize tasks as needed

The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) is an administrative unit of the Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs (UEFA) functional unit. The Office of Faculty Affairs is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and communication of university policy and procedures related to the full faculty experience and works in close collaboration with the faculty, college and Randall Library leadership, UNCW Faculty Senate, and the UNC System Office. OFA facilitates the success of academic units through a focus on professional development and university support of academic chairs and directors.
