The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Department at the University of Tennessee at Martin seeks applications for a Senior Air Conditioning Specialist
Job Duties include:
* Position responsibilities include logging equipment, completing documents, filing, preventative maintenance, fabricating, trouble shooting, calibrating, installing, maintaining, modifying, overhauling, servicing, and repairing HVACR type mechanical equipment, controls systems, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. System sources include natural gas, propane gas, electrical both single and three phase, hydronic, hydraulic, piping, and air distribution ducts.
* Other mechanical system components of responsibility include repairing, and replacement of equipment such as pumps, control valves, fans, motors, steam components, etc.
* Direct expansion equipment responsibilities include domestic and commercial refrigerators, ice machines, freezers, water coolers, walk-in-coolers/freezers, blast freezers, laboratory type constant temperature units, air dryers, and other types of refrigerated food serving equipment.
* Completing other duties assigned as required for department operations.


Qualifications :

Qualifications
* Typically requires a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* Comprehension of PC computers, mechanical equipment, air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems.
* Knowledge of electronic and pneumatic controls diagnostics.
* Knowledge of hydronics systems, diagnostics, and repair.
* Certified for Universal Refrigeration, to include the handling, removal and disposal of refrigerants, and the repairing of refrigerant systems. EPA approved
* Capable of comprehending and shall be required to read building blueprints, electrical schematics, controls drawings and equipment Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
* Reside within 1.5 hours from the campus for the entirety of employment.
* Must be available for callbacks and may be required to work after normal work hours for scheduled work or call back repairs. (24/7) (Business cell phone will be provided by the University)
*Required to maintain a telephone for receiving callbacks.
* Willing to travel, possibly out of state for training or certification.
* Capable of working with and around any chemicals or impurities related to the HVAC industry.
* Must wear uniforms provided by the University.
* Must wear or use safety equipment as deemed necessary by the University. (Requirements shall include but not limited to the use of the following: SCBA breathing equipment, respirators, dust and chemical mask, glasses, hard hats, lifting belts, hearing protection, or any other safety equipment necessary.)
* Capable of working off ladders, lifts and scaffolds, with no height limitations.
* Ability to work within confined spaces, and in hot, cold, wet or dry ambient conditions.
* Must be physically and medically capable of lifting a minimum of 75 to 100 pounds safely.
* Must be able to use two-way radio communications.
*Valid driver’s license is required.
* Must be able to work Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours per week)
